Martin Koch (82 pencils) | Fri, 2005-06-24 11:16Please let me know when you're sick of seeing my crappy logo but I couldn't resist to post another version. I tried to decrease the whitespace above the k.

I like it. Consider it a job well done.

...whats the concept?

David, I don't understand what you mean.
I think he means that there is no idea in the logo. At least it's not apparent. It's a typo logo, where the style of the letters should communicate the message. In this case tension does come through for me.
Check the original thread: http://creativebits.org/node/1704 and he explains what the logo is for :)

He means what are you trying to communicate.
What is the purpose of the logo?
I'm not in your business therefore the term concept was not clear to me.
As explained with the first version http://creativebits.org/node/1704 it is a guitar peghead logo like e.g. Fender or Gibson. The practical benefit are the round ends that make it easy to rout the cavities for inlay work with just a router bit.
Tension is good, there's a lot of string tension on a guitar :-)
I had to release the tension in this version.
Is logo perhaps the wrong term for my example?
What I tried to find is an unique and good looking expression of my name that's easy to remember.
I can see the shape of a mandolin body in it but that was not my intention. I could bring this out using a second color but I don't think this is neccessary for this application. And I don't build mandolins either.
Does a logo always have to express an idea? What's about IBM, amazon, eBay, or Fender? To me these are distinctive signs nothing more.
Amazon, ebay, IBM, google, Microsoft etc are also much more subtle then yours. I think he was just wondering if it was supposed to "be" something (other then your last name.)
I think it's pretty cool. (and like this version the most.)

I hope it's clear that I never intented to put my logo in line with these. I just named a few famous examples.
I'm glad to hear that my logo pleases. I've already chosen this version.
ha! I like yours more then some of those! lol
