Checking Gmail on the move

gmailGoogle recently released a FANTASTIC Java app which allows you to easily check you Gmail from a mobile phone. It is very fast, simple and easy to use. To get it, just point your phone's web browser to http://gmail.com/app . It will then ask permission to download and install a 100k applet.

If you need a decent web browser you could try the Opera Mobile browser which is also great.

I installed both of the above apps on my Sony Erisson Z530i, and they work great. Officially my phone does not supprt Gmail client, however it works fine.

Highly recommended !

Just installed it myself and it works really well. This is going to be priceless for me seeing as my entire freelance communication is done using gmail. Now I just need a mobile google reader :)

I've installed it but my service provider doesn't support it for some reason. I need to check with them. Nothing works with this provider at first so no surprise.

I often check my mail when I am outdoors and Gmail I one of many. When I installed gmail mobile I was trembling with happiness for 2 days until I realized that I am using two separate programs to check all of my mails, just because gmail mobile can only check Gmail of course. For my other accounts I use Movamail http://movamail.com/ and I don’t know why I should use gmail mobile just to check one specific mail account when I can check all of my accounts with only one app.

installed it onto my nokia 6233, works very nicely. couldn't figure out how to read emails though [you have to press green (answer), and there is no menu based option for it].

nice looking program, parallels the actual Gmail very well.

now, if only I actually used my gmail account for anything other than spam

oh well
