A charity proposal
Fraijanes (273 pencils) | Wed, 2006-10-25 21:49This a flyer for a neurological center that asked us at school to help them launge a sponsorship campaing and asked for 40 quetzales about a five dollar fee per month, to help special children get their therapy, and we should´nt beg or ask for money directly(begging or insparing sorrow was out of the question), so the text says that there are angels on heaven as on earth and both make miracles, why don´t you are my Angel and sponsor me... and it´s suppose to be creative, direct, and simple and any critique will help me improve....
We had to use only three colors for economy reasons.
This is just a scketch to improve it the last end art.

i dont like the sky color in the end but i get why you may have to choose
www.ftofani.com
It looks to me like there are 4 colors in there. Two blues, a yellow, and black.
The halo at the top is badly cut out, and the institutes logo in the bottom in heavily pixelated.
We dont have a big budget and we have to get with what we can.. this is just a sckecth to do a something good later on. The blues are the same cyab at different range and we took all yellow or magenta out.
Thanks in advance guys.

I didn't realize it was just a mockup. I do think that the blue in the sky is a little strong, maybe desaturate it a little.
i don't like the idea of the angel wing - it looks so unnatural like you're giving money to the wind. i prefer to see a real child face who could make you feel sorry for these kids. something like this:

if it is a real project you can find really good photos to buy on microstock (max of 5$ for really high resolution)
... and these with the colors is very stupid, because you can have a good effect from 2 colors but not from CMYK. and also: two pantone colors printing = 4 color process in most of the printing houses, because they should prepare the color, cleaning the machine, etc.....
I hate students assignments that make no sense (budget), but i'm pretty agree that you
should use 2 color effect (brownish or greenish) to emphisize the sadness
Good luck.
PS. The slogan can stay: Waiting for an angel.... but do they exist?!? (to make the reader think about it)
We could´nt focus on sadnes, in Guatemala using childrens pictures to infringe sandness is not accepted by society, cause sadnes is something children in Guate know better so its not an attractive thing to advertise, ´cause all our hunger and poverty problems, our target customer, people that have a 3,000 to 15,000 $ income that are very a few, will reject a flyer of this type, so that is why I decided that the angel thing was a good aproach, I had a few others but this one seemed very certin ´cause of the spiritual rush that society is living in. I guess aproaching and getting close to what people are living through is a good aproach. And defently cause the flyer is going to be sponsored by someone else they want to be very skimpy with the budget...
Thanks for the pointers.
