Abstract (digital)
nazimz (15 points) | Mon, 2008-12-15 15:42Abstract paintings that are not intended to be photographic representations. In general, the abstract artist's intention is not to preserve a person's image for posterity, but rather to give expression to the abstract artist's inner self. Its a freedom of mind, firstly to explore color, shape and form and, later, emotion and the sub-conscious. On the other hand if you feel happier layering colors. The basic abstract paintings are; what does it look like, describe what you see. If you think about it, color makes us feel many things. Anyway artist's enjoy it, How about you? How do you wanted enjoy???

Cool one. At first glance I thought of a Christmas tree. You can sort of see some green at the bottom that looks like branches. And at the top, bright green tree top, illuminated by the glowing star or angel.
Of course I just came out of working on my tree piece, so surely my mind was influenced by that lol.
Dude. Worrying about you now!

much better than the last one... this one feels at though it has intent behind it. it offers usage of color contrast, shape contrast, detail contrast, and brightness contrast.
I get the feeling of something hidden in the background that I can't quite make out, behind glass. The background texture provides a sense of depth and he indication of a distant horizon.
I know what all the abstract artists say about their art and most of it is meant to cover up the fact that they have no imagination and possibly no technical talent. This is not to say that you are one of "them" but just that there are many of "them" out there and the artist in me despises "them" because they devalue art for the rest of us. I have done my share of abstract art, but it had purpose, even if it's purpose was nothing better than to be the background to something else
Our art here, though it may at times be simple and boring, at least has purpose and at it's peak can be spectacular (ie Norman Rockwell)
