Adobe CS2 packaging

Creative process explained. I think it was an excellent shift to move from the tampon boxes to the new x-ray look. I'd buy CS2 just for the pack.

But it's still trashy design. How in the world am I supposed to equate a feather with Photoshop? A butterfly with InDesign? A flower with Illustrator? Terrible, terrible metaphors. I've been using CS since it came out, and I still hit the wrong icon occasionally.
Boo.
i really like the bottacelli (sp) for illustrator and the many different variations from version 4. the eye from photoshop 3-7.
Also when i got Photoshop 3, it came with a tour/hall of fame photoshop users from around the world. it showed the amazing things that they were able to make - with photoshop 3! i was no "expert" as i am now - i use expert loosely - when i first started out but it was a severe jump from using MS paint. Man, Windows 3.1- pixel by pixel design. i still have those renderings. they are so dated - but i am a pack rat i can never trash something completely.
so to get on target. i like the design but i am nostalgic and rember the older versions - i just cant remember InDesign 1 or 2.
What does this button d.... CRAP!

They're really killing individuality by using these generic artsy-fartsy icons. it's to get you to think "Suite" rather than program. Stupid. Bring back Venus! Hell. I'd even settle for a small PS or ID in the corner of the icon.
A little late there, aren't ya? ;-)

Nope. :) But since you brought it up, if you check the date of the original post it's a week earlier than yours, not that it matters at all. ;)
I always see people complaining about the CS icons & box designs, but I actually thought they were quite nice – Much better, in fact, than the tired old icons prior to the introduction of the CS versions.
I will say though, that I like the CS2 "x-ray" style better than the CS1 style.
