Ads of the World

This is a splash page for a web site I'm working on. The site is going to be a community project and library for advertising professionals. Sorry, can't say more at this stage.
The logo has to reflect that it's a global effort. Also, it has to convey that the tonality of the site is professional but fun.
I'd like to have comments on the logo and on the "Post it note" idea. Is it too hackned?

I like the post it ... it's been done before (we all know that) but it works here.
About the logo... there is one thing bugging me... the spacing between the letters. The o in World is a bit floating, while the s in Ads is a bit to tight.
Yeah the post it is quirky, I kinda like it Ivan, especially the type on it, but I feel the text bevel is just not welcome on the body of type, and a stronger use of the globe will help.
Any dealings with a globe form is tricky as we all know, as it is used so much, but the style of it just seems to break the whole composition, maybe losing the latitude lines, and just a simple stylized continent might make it more intergated, and not so out a place???
Maybe even making it a focal point of the peice instead of a direct replication of the 'o'??
I like the colour, especially on white, gives it a nice clean image. But it might mean adding other colours or changing orange the text colour if you go down the route of the continent...
Overall i like it, but i dont feel the shadows on the text is needed.
I also would prefere to see the o in world a vector / photorealistic world.... a bit like discovery channel if you know what i mean...

I agree with larusson the globe does feel a little floaty and the "s" a tad tight.

I was also going to point out that the w-o-r needs to be kerned in, the e in the, and maybe even both of the d's as well. And maybe the .com too, but the postit is in the way so I can't tell for sure.
You really like orange, don't you? :) It's a great MKTG color.

I know this is a bit old but all I see is this, very similar font, the big A and the post it.
I do like it though. If the post it wasn't there I would never have thought of it.
You have obviously chosen great colors that position a clean and sterile effect. That's obvious. Your typeface is classic also. There is a lot of negative space. I do not like the use of the "globe" as a letter. The post it note - doesn't work for me.
