This logo was recently approved, but after sleeping on it I feel like it could use a little help. The issue I'm having is with the circle and the 'A' feeling disconnected from each other. Am I thinking too much of it? What are your thoughts/concerns? (the gradients were insisted upon; they are another source of uncertainty.)

No way, how could they approve this. Is is just a concept to me and it needs more work. Forget about the gradient and colors for now, and go back to the shape, alignment etc. What is the dot anyway? The placement of the dot - not convincing. On fact, it may work better without the dot. The A is not obvious, it looks more like a reversed R. The relationship between the A (triangle with perspective) and the logo type (rectangle) and their alignment... it is just not pleasant. Sorry but that is what I feel.

It reminds me of the power up from the NES version of Metroid, the power up that turned Samus into a ball.

And no, that's not a good thing.

The A looks like a backwards R to me.

I agree and the shape just feels clumsy. and it may just be the white space (lack there of) around it but this is really unbalanced.

it's good that you're uncertain about this. it needs a lot of work.

i agree that it looks more like a reversed R than an A. but the lightning bolt and the bar that make up the A don't really work together. i don't understand what the circle implies, either.

and the type looks like a complete afterthought. kinda boring, incredibly cliche.

Looks like an early idea that either needs lots of refinement or - more likely - should have been dismissed.

Hm....letter "A" i think is moreee big rather blue dot !! On your place- if you so want to use dot, draw a small "A" into the DOT....with white color.....Will look better than now ;)!!

Backwards R; this is why I came here, I needed fresh eyes on this as I already knew it was an 'A'. The Samus power up I hadn't seen either, now I do. It's obvious this needs a bit of work; thanks for the feed back!

My $0.02:

Lose the gradient circle and use a bold face "A" with the negative space replaced by the thunderbolt.

If the lightning bolt is the route you need to follow then I think the 'z' of 'amazon' would lend itself more naturally to this treatment. A bit cliche perhaps but that's lightning bolts for you.

The blue dot is too dominant. Don't use any gradient at all. The logogram should be smaller so people are more focused on the company name. The 'A' needs lots of refinements.

Remove the color. Remove the shading. Try to then apply this logo to anything - a biz card, website, anything. You will then see all the problems this logo creates.

Separate the icon from the logotype so you can use them interchangeably, both together and separately, and keep the brand intact.
