AfterGlow's avatar stepthrough?
sPECtre (110 pencils) | Mon, 2005-08-08 09:34I remember that AfterGlow had posted a step through of the creation of his avatar. I searched on several places to no avail... Did I dream?
I Guess that its idea comes from City of The Lost Children?

Aw, it wasn't really a step through...more of four pics of the process from sketch to outline to blocking in of the colour shapes to adding texture and lighting. And you would be correct in the inspiration from the city of the lost children. It was initially part of an icon set from the film but everything else kind of fell by the wayside.

Or was it at another place? I remember that you discussed how you worked mainly with vector masks and subtle layer styles.
Well, a full tutorial would be really nice... (nudge nudge, wink wink)

Well the article on toolbar icons
http://creativebits.org/toolbar_icon_design_in_OSX covered a bit of that. I have another upcoming icon article which is taking a bit longer than I'd hoped. I'll dwell on that technique a bit more then.
