Ai select behind shortcut?

Is there a shortcut to select an object behind

another object in Ai CS?

In InDesign is Apple +clik on item to select behind the forefront object

i'm sure it's not the right way to do it, but i just lock the items above with Apple-2, select the necessary item and then unlock all with Apple-Alt-2. i hope we will find the answer to this burning question.

Freehand is not a problem though. you can easily select objects underneath or within a group and extend the selection, etc. i like Freehand much better in this respect.

That's an easy one... Select the top object (the one you DON'T want). Then hit Apple + Option + [ (left bracket) - that selects the object below. If you hit the right bracket, it selects the object above.

Look under the select menu and you'll see the shortcuts. :lol:
