I want to say that I feel like there's no direction to this piece... the big pink splotch near the top does more harm than good as do the pink rectangles below
The title and the subject of the cover should have more visual weight than any other element followed next by the subject's description (Sophia...)and anything else visible should support the subject
for example, the rectangles could be dropped to a 50%shade (or less)of that pink to allow the title of the Magazine to stand out more in comparison. As it is now, the rectangles hold equal visual importance to the title and the subject description
the big splotch might work better in the top left corner. Where the half of her face is hidden should be her face with a gradient transparency and blur from maybe 50% to 100% transparent with a hard edge where you have it now at that curvy central divide.
I feel as though you want her face half hidden to invoke curiosity in the reader, but you also should avoid the negetive vibe of something that won't be revealed, which is why I say transparent with a slight blur, and maybe even some distortion as though seeing her through frosted glass the B&W photos near the bottom don't seem to do anything... I'd take them out or use the lighter one very large and very non-distracting in the background on the right-hand side of the page.
Otherwise, I Like the birds and the other "strings" that come off the splotch along with the whitespace imagery in her hair and that curvy division is perfectly placed. The diamonds almost remind me of balloons
