alignment in InDesign CS2

Is there any way to make InDesign align text toward the gutter automatically? It seems like a royal pain in the ass to have to switch alignment any time you make an adjustment to your columns.

Select the text in question and using your tabs pallet, set left or right margins.

You're looking for "align towards spine," which is right next to "align right."
i want it to align towars the gutter so that two columns of text are aligned to one another.
it has both choices, align to spine and align away from spine
You want it aligned to the gutter between the columns. Not the gutter between the pages. Sorry.
Mmm, just us two grouped text boxes?
