American Rabbit Breeders Assc. logo

This is for a class project where we had to design a logo for a group or organization of our choosing. As the title says, I chose the American Rabbit Breeders Association. Admittedly, I'm not very good at logo design. I was aiming for somthing that incorporated a nurturing kind of imagery. Any thoughts or suggestions? Am I way off the mark here? I also have to make a two-color version, and I was thinking of using a light brown and green or light brown and a sienna-like shade. Thanks much for any insight!

I like the thought and the feel. You should simplify the lines. Maybe just use shapes without the outlines. Let's see how it will work with colors...

Hi ya,

cool logo just a few comments you could think about.

1) simplify... maybe take off the faces and make the outline of the bunnies as one...ie head and body using one outline.

2) take out the line behind the bunnies.... when designing logos you have to think of viewable sizes as well.

So hope this helps.

Cute logo.

IMHO it needs to be simplified a bit.
I love the concept of it but it's a little too busy for me.

Try losing some of the detailing and if it still looks too simple try adding some colour to it to add some interest.

Thanks to everyone who commented. That definitely helped. I tried doing some adjustments to the hands, but couldn't get them simplified down without creating some awkward shape or losing the appearance of hands altogether. I did get rid of the faces and simplify the rabbit's body. It was due this morning, so I kind of had to go with what I was there. I've attached a new file of what was turned in. Thanks again, and any further comments would be great!

I prefer the hands on the new version, but I think the rabbits would have looked better all a solid colour instead of using an outline.

The green colour is good, although I think I'd have been tempted to colour each rabbit a different pastel shade (green/blue/pink), as the outline still makes it difficult to make out from a distance or printed on something like a business card.

I dont think it is working as well as it could be because of the color.
Also my other concern is that it is looking a bit cartoonish.

But it is getting there.
Maybe play with the hands a bit... take them out all together. Just try more options.

that said, never draw cartoon people with 5 fingers... it looks like a bunch of bananas. Then again, maybe it wasn't Mr Schulz, since Charlie B himself has 5. Anyway, it was some cartoonist or the other. My first impression of the hands was a bunch of bananas, in the new version it's turned into sausages.

If you want to go for this logo, I suggest drawing it in much deeper detail - pen sketch.

Graphic representation might be pushing it, but have you considered inuendo regarding the relationship side of breeding? Remember those "love is" cartoons?

Ps. Those fingers are freaking me out, give them nails or something. Good luck.

Maybe it needs to have a variation of line weighting? Yeah and maybe no fingers? Like mittens...perhaps? or how about 2 rabbits facing each other touching noses?

+1 on simplify (from me too)
