Animated GIF + InDesign/PDF

Is it possible to place animated gifs within an InDesign document and/or its exported PDF? I can't find any option to enable the animation, so I'm suspecting that I'm out of luck.

Don't worry, this is not a printed piece, but rather a presentation that will probably only be viewed on screen.

I'm suspecting that I'll have to use the dreaded PowerPoint :(

I don't think its possible, I know there is some educational software packages that may do this, I heard one called docsalive a while back

You need to open the Advanced Editing toolbar and click the movie button. You can embed movies. AVI is recommended usually.
