How about talking us through this, and your other works? What is it for, how is it to be used and what is the relevance of each element?

It's a gorgeous piece.
Alex, باسم الله الرحمن الرحيم means "in the name of Allah the merciful" and it's the first line of the Qor'an and a great deal said at the beginning of gatherings at the mosque. It is also one of the statements most often presented in calligraphy. It is a very sacred sentence, and this presentation is beautiful, indeed.
