Aronoff Creative Logo Design

Aronoff Creative Logo Design

This is a idea i am pushing to try and figure out a identity system for myself and my freelance business. I am Russian by ancestry, hence the font and somewhat Soviet medal-ish logo. Let me know what you guys think.

I like this concept, but it's not contemporary at all. Very socialist. :) Would your target (potential clients) buy into this look?

well, i do live in a predominately liberal city and some of them probably do border on socialism. That being said, I'm not to sure. I am beginning to doubt my skills, any suggestions as to how to pull up my boot straps and trudge on?

I think it's a good idea to theme your logo. Make it 3D like it was made of gold and rubin. Good luck comrade. ;]

I think a font change is in order. If you changed the font and pushed it a little closer to the logo it might not look so socialist. You will still be able to keep the russian feel but not offend any non-socialist client.

i personally like the font usage (but maybe try one color type instead of the outline effect). it fits well with the center piece "a" in the center of the "sun" design. my only suggestion would to play with the colors. try red white and black (as this is a high contrast piece) and if that doesn't "speak" to you, then try others....

not sure why people gravitate to this style. sure you could do fun things with mixing cyrillic for roman letterforms. especially the backwards N or R. But does it hinders readability, and it is done for the sake of doing it. BUT think of what the soviet era represents - is that representative of what you believe in or what your work represents?

Agree with Ivan that it's not very contemporary. More importantly, I'd be worried about how it reproduces (and represents) at smaller sizes. You've got some very fine lines (tip of the rapidograph) that you'll lose when reduced in size or resolution.

that star in the middle looks weird to me ... maybe because i'm used to seeing a lot of diff kinds of them ... and the thing that's weird is that yr star is not simetrical ...

I'm not sure socialists spend too much money on design work! (unless you're a state run agency or program).

it's the trade mark of capitalism!...

I would give it a try with different colors. The typography already portrays "russia" but the colors are suggestive of politics. The pen and pencil look like missiles. I would work on the type more, change the color and spacing and eliminate the threatening graphics above it.
