Great site! One small thing: Why isn't the Sound On/Off on the top of the page?

I meant we wanted to keep it simpler for the navigation on top

yeah but I don't think that doing standard work or layouts is really going to get us much far, also is you are trying to be discreet I think you would have your speakers off when surfing the internet no?

in reality just wanted to keep it simple in the navigation as the whole site is simple and kind of rich at the same time, but thank you for your observation about the sound. there are a few things we want to work on just haven't gotten the chance around

But its hard to see your work. . . The zoom button really doesn't zoom. I also thought the first page that I was presented with WERE the navigation buttons, but since they didn't link I had to go hunting elsewhere. :) Bad usability. The work was great! but you have a lot to run through and each takes a while to load, couldn't you load each in the background so that you don't have to wait for each piece of artwork to load each time?

yeah like I said there are some "programming" problems we have to take care of as well adding more work to it. we are thinking of expanding the site but is a work in process

Music is really annoying, if by default you want it on I understand, but my speakers were not on a high volume and I almost dropped my beer!!!!! Also a bit monotonous too, don't think the music helps the site, in my opinion I think it detracts. If it was longer and more varied it may work. Otherwise maybe have it as a short intro and make it fade out.

Load times are a bit of an issue between selecting your artwork, could you not just mouse over the thumbnails and the image would change? The zooming thing has been mentioned so I won't repeat that.

Apart from that I think it's on the right track. Good work, thanks for sharing.

thank you all for the comments, we'll be working on changing the website in the next months as we have being very busy with clients, we know we have to improve it. just wanted to get some educated opinions and I'm new to this site, I think is a great space to get in touch with other conceptual designers.

Great site, nice and clean. Good use of stock images and colour. Though is the word "navigation" really needed above the nav bar?

to be honest no, I see you that you have 12 years experience in design and 5 in web programming. the way I see is that you build it for the costumer and that's fine but it doesn't have any design or concept at all and since I've read some of your comments on different critiques I thought you had some more conceptual work. anyway I'm sure the website you did it works for the client you had and sometimes we have to go with the flow

I didn't mean to offend you man, don't take it the wrong way I just saw you have an "educated" opinion about other people's work and I was expecting to see more from your own stuff. I like the colors you are using because they are fresh other than that is just text linking with buttons. when I said that we go with the flow I meant that at the end the most important thing is to have a satisfied clients and no matter how hard you try to educated them they are the ones that are paying us, so we end up giving the work they want to see. (never said I don't listen to my clients) conceptual work is when there is a meaningful and thoughtful approach and direction that contains your message. design is not just putting pieces together because they look pretty. again never meant to offend you

You took them yourself? Well, that makes them even more spot on!

Bigger fonts. Tiny text on a Web page is about as annoying and old a trend as the -blink- tag and, uh, background music from back in the day.

Nice site you've got going.
Just a couple things that caught my eye that you might want to take a look at:
1) the title in the HTML says "cplu8web". The "S" is missing from "plus".
2) the text in the bottom "footer" area of the page is a little blurry looking. I know if bitmapped fonts aren't placed at whole number coordinates and sized accordingly in flash, they will appear anti-aliased or blurry when they should be crisp and pixelly.

On a side note... Is that a wacom cintique I see in the who we are section photo? If it's yours and not just stock photo, that's awesome. I'm jealous.

all the photographs were taken by my business partner and I, including the photographs of ourselves. some of the photos were taken in Italy, Canada, Florida and Spain. the whole site was created by us and it took us a few months to put the whole thing together.
