Audio Visual Productions Logo

Audio Visual Productions Logo

My first submission to CB. Just hammered out this logo last week and wanted to get some input. The client has already approved, but I'm always looking for ways to better my designs in the future. Thanks in advance!

But the type doesn't really complement it. It is hard to read.

Is it supposed to resemble fish bones?

I agree, the font is difficult to read.

The name and logo seem very generic. Can you create a logo that represents rather than directly uses, the audio and visual? Something a bit more iconic than literal. Is it a web design firm? An audio production/live reenforcement company?

Please flesh out the brief so we can give more critique.

Sure. It's a company that does the audio setup and lighting and video for presentations/bands/any sort of stage or expo showing.

I did not choose the name, so yes, I agree that it is sort of generic. When you say that the logo is generic- could you be more specific? I did a good bit of research before doing this and hadn't found anything of this kind before starting. I want to make sure that I'm being original in my approach. Thanks again in advance!

Thanks for the clarification.

The logo/icon of an eye with a wave going into it is nothing new, in fact I can't tell you how many times I've seen it. You've just taken the two most obvious elements for 'audio' and 'visual' and made them into a logo.

If you've done 'research' then you will have seen all the logos with eyeballs and sine waves in them. No need for me to regurgitate them for you here.

Back to the drawing board. I suggest you think of what this company represents. Established? Funky? Independent? High end? Low end? Your logo currently is too literal and doesn't encapsulate a larger feeling.

Show me a larger feeling, I guess is what I'm trying to say.

All of these logos on this site (logopond--search for the term 'audio' for logos) look good to me except this one because it's too literal (eyeball with a speaker inside it):

I like this one. I'm on a roll but am stopping now.

wow nice find. Guess I need to stop looking at Logolounge. Those logos are a lot better inspiration. I think I see what you're saying. I'm needing to think outside the box a little more next time.

Try taking off the speaker thing on the left side and taking away the line in that goes through the big wavy line and center the wavy line above the text. Then, make the wavy line green, take away the black box around the icon, and get a different font from http://www.dafont.com. :D
