avi to dvd

Can somebody PLEASE tell me how to convert my avi files to dvd
because I made a homevideo and i made it an avi file but my dvd player won't let me view avi. So I want need a program that makes a dvd format of my avi file.

Hi,

Before anyone can help you, tell us more information - are you Mac or Windows ?? Computer power ?? Software you have ?? Budget ?? Etc.

You want help from us, then we information from you.

but anyway all these things you want to know has nothing to do with the problem
The power of my computer is not your problem
I don't have software because if i had i would't ask..
Why do you want to have a buget it's not like you've got to pay.

If I'm not mistaking, I think you can drag & drop your .avi files to iDVD, create a quick menu, burn a disc - and you should have a dvd (with menu) that will be read by any (or most) DVD players.

i've tried it and it did work the only problem now is that i can't add
subtitles to my movie. So i've anyone has a suggestion ????
