Band Business Card
jferguson757 (93 points) | Thu, 2009-05-28 02:59My friend has a Beatles tribute band called, "Revolver" and was wanting a business card design. Any suggestions? One thing I was kind of concerned about was copyright issues using a green apple. I like the idea because it's so recognizable as "Beatles", but don't know how legal it is. I assume it is since it's an alteration and not a 100% copy. But, then, I don't know. Thoughts?

i was in a band named revolver when i was in highschool..
it would be cool if you could do something like this with the word "REVOLVER"

OP's is way better than that tacky thing!

Can anyone here say "lawsuit"?! Can't use the apple or any Beatle's logos without their express, written permission.

to be fair, it's not apple's apple (theirs is half an apple viewed from the slice). and i don't think that's the beatle's logo, it's a sans serif font.
Apple records was in the process of suing Apple Computer just recently for even using the word, let alone a green apple in context.
I think it's fair to say that they'd have a problem with you connecting the two for your band, but they'd get no money from it so it's probably not an issue.

I'm not really familiar with the Beatles fonts... I just chose something that I thought would look good. My biggest concern now is the size of the words "The Beatles" with respect to everything else. It seems to distract from their name.
I have another idea that I'll post and see what you guys think.
"Beatles" is being dominated by Revolver at the moment.
