azureus is best under windows too.
yes, java is slower and it has problems freeing up the memory.
but the client has awesome technology and features underneath an usable interface. if you are into windows also check microtorrent. at www.utorrent.com
its a very small client, with a very low memory signature, that could run on a 486 but it still delivers everything.

A member of this site introduced me to Transmission several months ago, and I've been using it regularly. It doesn't seem to be such a memory hog as all other torrent applications that I've tried in the past.
As the article mention it's been banned on some private torrent sites, but I think it will get sorted out with future updates.
