Black Dog Marketing
Charlie D (384 pencils) | Sat, 2005-04-16 18:56Client wanted to definately use yellow and black. Also wanted the symbol to be somewhat of a mascot that might be used later down the road in little flash animations. Client also wanted to convey a little bit of edge with the overall idea of marketing that communicates to everyone or "speaks" (like the command you give a dog, pardon the pun).
Lemme know whatcha all think. Thanks.

I think you met the brief. The logo has an idea. It's memorable. It's easy to reproduce. Very good job.
Thanks Ivan!

Have you tried it with a couple of teeth? I'm sure they don't want to be seen as aggressive, but a company with a bit of "bite" too? The overall logo works well, and the dog 'icon' can be used across many media at various sites. A good bit of branding! Oh yeah, if it had teeth... you could take bites out of all the stationary etc too! ;o)
Teeth would definately be a cool idea, maybe in some promotional materials down the road. One thing client did not want to be, as you stated above is aggressive. The teeth just might come across as that.
We talked about the promotional piece that we will be doing and I could see the teeth being on one of the pages in describing all the different capabitlites the company has.

I like that logo cause you took a regular font and then added a nice sketch to it. The contrast between symbol and typo makes it work.
Those yellow sound imitations i would change a bit. They are a bit too close to each other or just too thick or just try to take one out.
It stands out and looks great. If I was the client I would feel you listened to and meet all our needs. Bravo!

Looks good, like the simplicity of the whole thing. And that dog sure looks agressive, and that's good for a marketing service, right?

Simple, yet eye-catching...very well done!

I like it very much but it's too unbalanced I think.
I'd make the dog a bit larger like this:

Dog is way too big. It's like bambi vs. godzilla now

I like the imaginary squared boundaries that you'd get
if you do it like this...that's my opinion...it's your logo of course :)
