Safari on Windows

Steve Jobs just said the "one more thing" on WWDC 2007. Safari will run on Windows. I wondered why?? I understand iTunes runs on Windows to sell more iPods. But, why would Apple spend resources on bringing Safari to Windows? To sell the Apple experience to Windows users? It is twice as fast as IE and has more features. Much more standard compliant. It could work.

Bad Ads

This morning, my son came in with this ad, torn from the local paper (really... it was torn, as he and his friends were actually fighting over it).

Go ahead and take a look... I'll wait.

After one look, I knew what I had to do. Scan it and post it to CB. :)

Here's my thoughts:

The reason behind Time Machine

time machine

Time Machine is one of the exciting features in the upcoming new Mac OS X release Leopard. With Time Machine not only can you back up and preserve everything on your Mac — including priceless digital photos, music, movies, and documents — without lifting a finger, you can go back in time to recover anything you’ve ever backed up.

Macs run Windows

alt BootSo, does Bootcamp support Dvorak's story? Is this the next step towards a Windows only Mac? Or is it just Apple being awfully smart again? Not that I need Bootcamp, but it's nice to have the option. Time do the Photoshop tests! Windows in red corner vs. OS X in blue corner. Box!

The ultimate questions has been answered

Not really actually, but almost.

For years it's been a heated debate. Is it the Mac or PC faster? With PPC and X86 to compare it was a hard task. In Photoshop tests Macs usually came out faster unless you were reading a die hard PC magazine that always managed to find a PC configuration that could beat the fastest PowerMac. Other applications varied.

Apple's deliberate rip-offs

eminemYou must have heard about the scandal last October when Apple was rightly accused of plagiarism because of their new iPod commercial art directed in an extremely similar way to the Lugz footwear spot from 2001. The Mac community and many geek news channels were boiling. Hundreds of posts and thousands of comments everywhere. Everyone has seen the new iPod ad.

Apple's new Ad campaign

Apple has launched a lame new ad campaign in which they diss PC's and glorify their choice of the Intel processor. Watch it here. I think they could've done better than that.

Kodak's new logo

new Kodak logo

Kodak revealed its new logo yesterday. The old logo has served the company for more than 50 years and apparently they felt it was time to change.

The new logo certainly has a young and fresh feel, but I'm afraid it has lost it's character. The old one wasn't great, but it was certainly distinct.

Intel Macs coming soon?

MacWorld Expo is upon us (well, almost) - what do you think we're going to see this year? Last year we had the Mac mini and the iPod shuffle. Obviously there will be a new version of iLife (maybe with an iWeb component?) but as for the iBook above, I wouldn't bet on it :-)

Post your speculations!
