I like this concept. Have you maybe considered introducing a new color so everything isn't blue? Perhaps "MOBILE SELF-STORAGE" can be in black.....or something. Keep building just a bit more, I think your almost there. Good job.
still needs kearning in "blu." tightening that up a bit will help tighten up mobile self storage, which i think is letterspaced out too much to make it run end to end.
have you tried printing that logo at 3/4 inch or less? how do the radial spokes in the combination dial print? I'm thinking those are going to be an issue.
i would also make the lock bar of the lock be the same weight as the stroke on blu.
Overall, I like this logo. It's simple, clean and says what the company does. designmonkey and gwells have both made good points: introducing a second colour, fix the over-spacing on the "MOBILE SELF-STORAGE" line, and the concern regarding the lock's radial spokes--heavy those lines up.

agree w/nate that #2 is the best. the spokes really aren't necessary. black works fine as a second color in the logo (and you'd likely be using it in printed a lot of printed material, anyway, so it makes sense to have it as a 2nd color financially).
i'd consider making the hyphen longer. not quite an en dash, necessarily, but long enough that it doesn't disappear at smaller sizes.
I like your new goVault concept a LOT more than this. great improvement!

It's too bad you have a lock instead of a box.

it's pretty ok... the right side is just awfully heavy. Can't really do anything at this point though, huh?

Thanks for the feedback. It's exactly what I was looking for.
Regarding the spokes: I had the same concerns, I think I may drop 4 of the spokes otherwise there will be too much white (with heavier line weights).
how does it look if you just drop the radial spokes?

#2 is best, but change "Mobile..." to the same blue.

I do still think the lock should be a box instead, but it works as is.
