Blue Pixel Studio Logo
ojg76 (81 pencils) | Sun, 2006-10-22 21:11Ok guys, I'm gonna need some critics, please I need your opinions about this;
It is a logo for a graphic design studio that I'm about to start. There are four proposals i made (including the one with the dark background). Which one do you think is better? I'm a recently graduated Graphic Designer from Ecuador.
Thank you in advance for your help.

You have lines in there that are way too thin. They get blurry and just don't work that well, and they won't print well. I like the one on the left with the blue square the best.
thank you for your comment, you are so right about lines. i'll change it
1. I wouldnt say using a circle to represent a pixel would be a good branding idea for a graphic design studio, might want to rethink that one. So, go with the square.
2. Simplify, as Apfhex said, lines are way too thin. Think how thats going to look printed.
3. Try printing the logo in different sizes from say 5mm or 10mm up to about 50mm or 100mm in size and see how the logo looks then.
4. Remove gradients and match the colors of your pixel with the text, they dont look like they're the same. If they are, you might need to work on that.
5. Simplify (yes I did mean to say that again). Try losing the boxes and just have maybe 1 large square with the blue pixel placed somewhere, remembering how placement of one object inside another can provoke diferent feelings.
5. When you think you've nailed your logo concept, try printing it out in color / black and white / faxing it / photocopying it. If it works well on all those you're onto something.
6. you need to work on chosing a different typeface, as what you've chosen really isnt doing you any favours. It feels weak and is difficult to read, I read it as "bue pxel sludo" which isnt great.
7. what are the lines for on the left / bottom. How are they giving you more strength to your concept.
Hope that helps.
