it is very well illustrated but i dont understand what it is or what it is for, if you are new here something you will need to do always is to give us a brief so we understand what is the concept, why you chose the elements you chose and so on, all i can say so far is it is a nice illustration and that i dont know what a black beetle stands for.
Kill the Big Bug and your logo is perfect. Your website says "An enormous step towards easier bug tracking", but here you are emphasizing, rather caring the Bug and not on the fact of killing it. You replace the Bug and put a Dog face with the name instead, people will find it a pet shop. Right now it gives the essence of Insect ~ Lovers ~ Society logo.
If you take a good look on your logo (text part), it itself has the elements to make graphical approach for "An enormous step towards easier bug tracking".

allright if you want to start from this point maybe keep the type, that´s fine , work in black only, and maybe keep the bug if you want to , make it more simple, and maybe the circle around it you can make it a magnifying glass,! just an idea
Combine the two ideas - NR and Cao's. Put the bug (a simple silhouette of a bug) under the magnifying glass that's now working as the Q. Forget the big bug.
Guys I kept that part in total silent so that the owner at-least put some effort or money on it ...... you guys.... uuuuh!
Did s/he gave any brief after all of our request? S/He couldn't be not be a designer & it is his/her own business(visit his/her website). If he/she trying to earn selling his/her idea/service, than why they don't bother to loose some bucks on professional designer service, at-least from stock logos. This is our bread and butter and if they keep getting idea for free or less they will never encourage good designer to grow. Rip idea from some where and tweak it with half-designers is trend now.
I think we are here to help designer/design community and not charity. I can do design/idea for free for my designer friends or non-profits but not a single dot for clever commercial user.
here we are again. 15 comments in, and the OP, this "andyzwerd" cat. cant even be bothered to respond.
i have to conclude that:
1. this was spam
2. this was someone looking for free help with their logo
3. a young designer who didnt like the feedback they received
I say whoever gave constructive criticism delte or edit their comment. In the future, we should look for the signs ran mentioned in his post. In fact, this whole thread should be considered spam.
Looks like it was a real post. The guy was probably looking for validation and we shot him down and told him how to improve it instead. He'll learn. Next time he'll post the logo here BEFORE he puts it on the website so he can incorporate all our great ideas before it actually goes online.
Hello everyone, it's actually one of my first professional logos and I was just looking for feedback. It is live already, but I can still change and improve it, that's why I decided to ask the experts.
Sorry if you think it's spam or something or if the logo's not designed well, I think you can delete this post in this case.
1. you didnt provide any kind of "brief" telling us what the company did or what the idea behind the logo was. which is info we'd need to really help.
2. you didnt respond to our feedback. thats a pretty common happening around here.
if you really want more feedback let us know. we are happy to help!
but if you just want to show the world your neato logo. you'll have better luck at http://dribbble.com/
It's not so repulsive but still makes me think if a more cute character could be friendly for an utility service at my desktop.

Creativebits is a blog about creativity, design and Macs. We also have a critique section where you can post your work to get opinions and a forum to discuss any design related topics.

everything NRcreative said.
in addition, i think it has too much detail. much of that will disappear at the kind of smaller sizes that get used in day-to-day work.
hi, I'm 12 years old and what is this?

i think this is representative of the new, younger (and often "retail" certificated) crop of designers.
as an old-school, classic mark purist. i judge an effort by whether it holds up when reduced to the size of a dime and if it can work in black only.
with all the gradients and shading. i cant personally qualify this as anything other than an illustration.
There's a bug on your logo.

That Q would work nicely as a magnifying glass wouldn't it? For a type treatment instead of an icon treatment.
Without my sense of direction, I don't know where I'd be.

Done.

We could have a blanket rule of no suggestions if you guys are serious about this issue.
Just a thought.

Thank you for everything.
the reason we thought it was spam is that:
