this is a book cover for a compilation of folk stories.the challenge was getting the language.what i got from the client is that the guy riding the horse is a great hero
I am not sure if you need the thick and strong yellow borders on the back. On the spine, I would use just one type size. It will be great if you can get a professional illustrator to do the cover, if the budget permits.
i dont so much mind the yellow border on the back but i do mind how it doesnt give the text any room to breathe. at some points the border seems to be touching the text. bring it out a bit and see how it looks. i also suggest to lose the drop shadow, or at least take it to the same level that the 'Sheekooying Soomaaliyaeed'(on the front cover) is at. its too big and bulky and weights the back down.
The spine copy needs to be rotated 180 degrees, so that the book title is at the top and reads going left to right. Look at your bookshelves and you'll figure it out.
Also, the copy on the back is justified and creates a lot of bad spacing problems. Try it flush left, ragged right and it will breathe better, and eliminate all of those spacing holes between words -- yuck! And put some more space between the border and the copy (as others have mentioned).
