Ahmm.... wasn't this supposed to be a graphic design community?
thanks but no thanks.
well apparently and if you actually read profile/s (or interested in doing so than just knowing yourself) -- im just half-a-day-newbie here.
i have actually chosen Identity for specialization. i could have chosen photography as well but i dont specialize that.
critics are to criticize artworks...may it be good or bad.
if posting a photo HERE in a graphic community bothered you a lot...
then that's not my pb.
but is this really just a graphic community?
PS
few of my graphic works are in here though:

While maybe most visitors to this site are in the design industry, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with a photographer seeking feedback. It is related.

i thought so too. we use images for graphics and not merely illustrations.
thanks for the comment olliesan1. btw, i saw your portfolio.
it's very creative. clean, minimal and direct. :-)

Thank you, it's still a work in progress. I just need to find time to work on it.
Photography is used all the time in graphic design. Unfortunately my photography skills aren't that strong, wish I could be of more help.

I love that rocky outcropping with a unique tree or bush on each "pedestal".
I'm not a photographer, so I can't give critiques on methods, but as a graphic artist, I would use the photo in certain ways or would "wish" the photo had the following qualities to make my job easier in using it for production:
A wide-angle shot would have been great with much more sea... maybe the rocky outcropping at the right end of the page.
I can't tell if the horizon is straight or not - it doesn't look that way, but that could be because of the rocky outcropping and the clouds behind, it may be creating a sort of visual trick on my eyes. Just looks crooked.
I'd want more saturation in color and better contrast, as well - and would be great to be able to see more of the details on the rocks - oh, and if it's not too much trouble, photoshop those people and the boats in the distance out of the picture for me, thank you. (Speaking as a spoiled graphic artist to her photographer.) ;)
Neat, though - and I agree - photography goes hand-in-hand with graphic design. A great photo inspires a graphic artist.
I would love to see it at sunset though.
