Brain Logo
Julitus (25 pencils) | Fri, 2010-08-13 00:30Hey Folks!, I would like to have your opinion on these logos that I'm developing for a company that is dedicated to training staff in Ecuador. BRAIN is the english word for "cerebro" but people generally understand some English.
Greetings.

I find your first logo, a well crafted symbol. I am unsure with the type you have chosen.
Not liking the bottom option, too many rings and cliché.
>> Can you make the logo look more clever to reflect the concept of thinking?
Your slogan reads a world of knowledge, can you make the brain look like the world or make it reflect ecuador even more?

I love brains. This idea is smart, but not genius. Go mental with the concept 'A world of knowledge'.

I think that having a brain as a logo for a company called "brain" may be too obvious. I know it's not the same language, but I think it would be worth it to go back to the drawing board to see if there is a better solution.
I like the effects and illustration, just not buying it quite yet.
The fonts you chose for the word "brain" on each are horrible. Especially the second one. I don't like the way the serifs flow. It makes the word look choppy. And I don't like the shapes of the letters on the first logo.
Good luck! It's not bad, but it's not great either.
The top one is a go in my book. I'd reduce the space between the brain and the word BRAIN and add just a hair more space between BRAIN and the tag line. Your spacing is off imho. The other thing I'd like to see is a little bit of cross bar on the "A". Not all the way across - maybe just a bit. It's a little too cheeky as is - I think a little nub of cross bar would help immensely. The only other thing I might do is play with the internal brain elements to see if you can add something subliminally - I'm almost seeing a face now. Something very low key. Just try it - don't kill yourself.
The bottom one is dead on arrival imo.
Good work on the top one.
I see a face too, in the first, kind of reminds me of that Obey stencil of André the Giant for some reason
living on dreams and custard creams.
I definitely see the face in the top one, and I like the idea, but it could use some tweaking, I think. It almost looks like a sinister smile in this incarnation. Just experimenting a bit with different eye and mouth shapes could yield some great results.
I like te top one and + on Artie
you know bud! this is actually cool i yeah try to work the marks on the brain maybe you can get ecuator map or some of their ancient rock inscriptions, just an idea.
Yep, really like the top one - looks like an established brand already, try tweaking as per the other comments you never know how another font may set this off. I also agree with the brain comments but don't change it too much. I'd say it's near enough a brilliant logo, if not already.
(I think I just wrote a complete contradiction... lol... but I think you know what I’m trying to say.)

Both are really well done compared a lot of our recent logos but could be better.
The type could be 90% of original height, it makes difference on some types.
The 1st is better than 2nd IMHO.
the problem of the first is the presentation. I think it's better without all this collors on brain.
I think you have more room to stylize the brain for this business For example, if it's for learn language you can make something related to.
yes I'm brazilian xD
Ok guys, thank you all for your comments, they are all useful.
Here are some updates in black and white.
I would like to keep it simple. Hope you like it.

Aww, but I liked the face thing... :(
... And one more from my pillow ; )

None of these changes worked imho...
Don't understand why you turned the brain upside down - the shape tells me that the back of the head is now at the front. It looks upside down.
Don't understand why you changed the font - the original font (on the blue background) is the best. The only thing I wanted to see was to add a little bit of crossbar on the A - just draw it in - don't change the font. Make the font yours - so it's not straight out of the box.
The brain as a lightbulb is another idea in my book - I'd show that one too (but with the original font).
Ok, I'm going with these two. I do not want the logo look funny with a smiley face, I prefer more serious. I think work better with your comments.
Cheers!
