Business Card Design Help!
jramos (6 pencils) | Sat, 2007-02-03 02:27Hello,
I am not a Graphics Designer but I am trying to create my new Business Card for my photography company. The Business Card has similar color to my site.
The card has 2 sides, the vertical is the front, and the back side
has the picture. The card will have rounded edges and will be printed on a glossy paper.
Please give me some creative feedback!
Thanks for your time!

1.) Your logo reads "jr amos". Fix the letterspacing.
The "j" and "r" are too tight
The "r" and "a" too open
The "a" and "m" too tight
2.) Too many typefaces. The website type on the back side seems totally out of place. I suggest you omit the web address from the back, it's already on the front side.
3.) Fix the line spacing. Even space between phone, email and web.
4.) Omit "Photographer" after your name. You already have "Photography" twice.
5.) It seems odd to have the front vertical and the back horizontal. I suggest you choose only one format.
Thanks for the great help!
I will fix the letterspacing.
If I remove the web address from the back, what should I do with the empty space?
Thank you very much for the help!
Jose
I have a couple of issues with the tracking (letter spacing) here and there but then I noticed that you said you are not a graphic designer. To be honest I have seen much worse from people who are working as a designer, you have a good eye for layout - good work.
As for the space on the back, maybe put in a thinner dark grey band (to give balance between the hair on the lady and the 'j') or just extend the image down to the bottom of the card and bleed it off - like the masthead on your site.

I'm sorry, but i don't like the logo and the whole design. You need have an idea or very slick and elegant typo if you come off as a fashion brand. The first two letters of the logo are too close compared to the rest of the logo. I like the green and white, but I would rethink the black.
