You've posted several ideas now and while they are getting better (compared to one another) you still aren't creating anything earth shattering here.
Limit your font use to two or fewer (the usual rule is three, but that's for more a more advanced design; and three fonts is hardly necessary for a biz card) and pick one element to be the most important (your logo, perhaps?!) and then make everything else subservient to that (hierarchy).
What's the knot for? It's 'graphic design solutions' plural, not singular. Why the colors? Black and soupy yellow aren't exactly pleasing colors when combined.
You need to think about why you are doing things. This will inform your design process and help you create a better looking biz card.
It works. Experiment with black only and eliminate the yellow box on right. You are so close to an elegant 1 color solution it seems a shame to complicate it. Also suggest making your name & number considerably smaller and tucked into the bottom right. BTW, I 'get' the ribbon almost immediately. It symbolizes tying everything together simply, minimally. I have no problem with that.
Please, work with this concept a bit more and post again. Look forward to seeing results.
Confused. Is "Minimalism" the new name of your business? If so, you must be prepared for people to assume that minimalism is your design philosophy. But you're contradicting that right in your own business card by using too many different (and uncomplimentary) fonts, reversing mouseprint out of black (almost guaranteed to fill in and be unreadable), and adding what appears (to me, anyway) to be an arbitrary little bow graphic. The bow seems neither creative nor unique, but rather, something done without much thought or effort with a calligraphy brush in Illustrator. Sorry, friend, but this one leaves me cold.
My concern with this version, is that every element is competing with one another. I also agree with Mara and Natobasso on their comments. Honestly pulling back, I'm finding another problem too...a huge one....the fact that you are going to be designing things for others! I'm not trying to be mean, but it looks like you have quite a few things to learn about design before you even begin to start designing things for other people...Don't quit and get discouraged (you seem like you have drive, and that's awesome)...just learn every- and any- thing about design you can, be aware of everything around you...maybe take some basic classes on typo/layout/color theory. Just some suggestions. Good Luck
Hey, your comments always makes me happy :) And what I most like is that you are so honest and open and really good. Thanks!
Each comment helps me a lot.
I'll post two different ideas more, separately. I could continue with work on this, as caoimghgin suggest, but want to hear your feedback on the other cards, as well.
Dear ladylee, thank you for being always honest. Really appreciate that. Now I'm reading about layout. And I'm aware the things you have suggested (ShawnAllan too). That's my plan also. But my order is different a bit :) First layout, then typo, then color and so on.
Please don't misunderstand everybody's comment about you possibly screwing around with us. I truly believe it's because your work is so random. There doesn't seem to be ANY consistency at all with your designs, therefore, people are thinking/assuming you're just posting whatever you want to basically "waste our time."
However, the last thing we want you to feel or believe is that we are rude, obnoxious designers. We are not. We are here for a reason and that's to help everybody out. Regardless of experience, education, etc.
We want you to be comfortable posting your work and your critiques. Seriously. But—and this is a big but—when anybody posts their work for critique (and that's everyone, not just YOU), expect to be criticized—which is what the word means. To be criticized; whether it's a positive or negative critique about your work, it still reflects your ability to be able to push it to a higher limit/level so your work will be professional. That's why as a student, we ALWAYS do critiques as a class, as a whole. It's nothing personal, it's just how it is.
If you work at a major magazine, I imagine you are exposed to this daily. If not, I am surprised.
So please don't misunderstand our intentions. Yes, perhaps these threads to tend to get out of a hand and go off in a different direction, but that's just the fun of a blog.
Besides, not too long ago we were inundated with people posting myspace-type pictures of themselves for "critique." It was getting ridiculous. Perhaps that's what people were thinking? IDK.
Either way, we hope you're not turned off by CB. It's a wonderful site and I have learned a tremendous amount of ideas, suggestions, whatever from the talented designers around the world. Where else could you get that kind of information for free?
OK, but why my work is random? I didn't start with concept. The only idea was to make a business card for myself. The business card which will stand out. Maybe that's was wrong. But I just need a business card. I don't have my own company or anything alike. What is for that kind of business card? Just for informations. Hmm...
Hey, do you think I don't know anything about critique? I'm happy when people criticizing my work. Honest people. Just like folks here in CB. They are good, honest and professional. What else you'd need? This site is really great! Candidness is important because I need to here both kind of critiques, positive and negative. Coz both is for my good. I mean, both is pushing my work to higher level, just as you've said.
But how can I feel free and comfortable to post something here again if people think I'm wasting their time?
Anyway, I'll not be turn off by CB. I can always learn from examples of other people, and comments.

The only thing I like here is the "minimalism" font and the phrase below. Everything else isn't working. Get out a sketch book and draw some designs and find something that works.

Still not quite.

You should probably have posted all card designs in one critique post instead of many different posts.

My latest web design work
yep
I will. Thanks.
And sorry.
Actually I'm not that sure I'll post here something again. People misunderstanding me :(

That's not font. I draw that. All other text is fonts, but different. What's bad.
Thanks for comment, pokie.

Font
Yes, I have to say that the font you drew isnice, but inappropriate for a business card, mainly cause its hard to read
What's with the bow???
