Cafe/Cocktailbar Barbarellah
roberthein (21 pencils) | Fri, 2007-08-10 20:14A mini flashsite, the client is a cafe/cocktailbar.
Lounge-style with old funitures with the funny concept - you can buy just about everything, but not the tender :D

I could use your feedback :-)

I LOVE the transitions between the pages. Seriously, great job. Overall, I like the color, the feel, and the flash. I think you've done very well.
I do have some complaints though. One being that the text is a little difficult to read - almost like it's a little too small to be in all caps. Another thing is that on some of the pages - when you hover to see the menu it cuts off some of the main content text - bad idea, in my opinion. Even when the menu appears, you should still be able to read the page's content.
I personally think the gallery and the calendar could be done better - it almost seems like a pity on such a gorgeous site. I found myself thinking "aww. this could be so much cooler." I understand with things like the calendar where you need to edit it almost daily, but I still think it could be integrated a little more into the site - instead of a popup, perhaps.
Is it just me, or is the title page that leads into the intro page gone in a flash? No pun intended.
My last complaint would be that the text along the bottom looks like each word should be a link to me. I was hovering over them for a while.
Great job overall. I think tweaking it a bit would hit the spot. :) What a fun project.

And again..
First posts, and i allready got a friend or... nevermind :D hehe
Well i agree with you about the cal and the gallery, it does suck, and there is only one good reason, they didnt pay for the job, it was a friends deal.. and by the time, i was like, this havs to be done NOW! so ill eat it.. its aint a pretty solution.. I could maybe lift it with a lightbox or so.
And your right too about the navigation, hiding the main content. never thought of that though, but your right!
Thanx for you comments Seraphim,
Rob
Very nice work. I like it. The only concern is the bad photography of the bar at the beginning.
