Camera/Laptop Bag

For my next year in college I am looking for the perfect bag - the perfect bag that can hold two very important things. One: it must hold a 12inch powerbook. Two: It must comfortably hold a dslr camera as well, in this case, a 350d. I have taken a look at crumpler, but haven't really found anything. Any ideas? I would even settle for a regular bag that had a compartment for the camera, becuase then I would simply get a sleave for the powerbook. Any help would be stellar!

I've been browsing for the same thing for a while and have been just using individual sleeves and cases stuffed in a bigger bag.

Check out roadwired's r.a.p.s., I use them to wrap up my lenses and things. Its basically just a piece of material with velcro on the corners but they're supposed to be resistant to corrosion, weather, etc... The bigger one might fit your powerbook and camera too.

I also bought a sleeve for my 15in powerbook from them made from the same material. this one might fit your 12. discarded the strap that came with it and threw it in my bag. But there are better sleeves out there that are made to fit Macs.

For my d70s I use a tamrac travel zoom. it fits nice in my bag and it's easy to just grab the camera and take by itself. On vacation I just fling that over my shoulder and go.

The problem is that the camera, laptop, lenses, and other stuff gets heavy

I would look at ground. They have great designs (I reward companies that have good design) and their stuff is durable as all hell.

I use the Diabase which is perfect for my 12" ibook, a textbook, and accessories (has ipod pouch). groundwear.com/products.php?style=62 This one has more space and would work for what you need it for: http://groundwear.com/products.php?style=65

If you are looking to trek around school, go with a backpack. It will save your back (carrying around 3 textbooks, 1 powerbook and an slr could be a wicked chore). groundwear.com/products.php?style=63

Best of luck. I would buy another bag from this company in a second, and it is a new company so you get those "where did you get that" comments which are always fun...
