Can I open illustrator CS eps in illustrator 10?

I have an EPS file from a client that was unfortunetly saved out of Illustrator CS. We only have Illlustrator 10 on OSX and I can't open the file. Is there any way I can open this file as a vector EPS? Any way to convert it or down rev it without Illustrator CS? Their designer is out of the office for the rest of the week. Lame. :?

You might try placing it into Illistrator 10, but I am not sure if it will be editable. you also might try opening it with Freehand if you have it available.

Sweet. I never thought of that. Thanks, it worked by placing it. I was able to edit it and save it in any format out of Illustrator 10.

Next time, have the designer export it as a Legacy AI/EPS file. You should be able to open it in version 10.
