centinela part 2
catdogucd (19 points) | Mon, 2008-09-22 22:39First off, I would like to thanks all of you who have participated in my previous post for Centinella logo. This is the following up post. The world “Centinela” means “guard”, client like a shield or perhaps a symbol to protrait trust, confident. So I stick with 2 of my old design (I know some of you did not like them) and made a new one out of a trojan head. I have one more version that I’m working on and I will post on here as soon as I finish. So here it is agian. Thanks you guys.

i like the typeface for centinela best in the last example. the serif seems to say financial more to me than your sans serif choices. not sure i like the way capital partners is centered underneath it, tho. maybe using the extended sans in option 2 would work better there.
in option 3, i would letterspace capital partners a bit more and ease off the word spacing. that feels like a very big gap.
Nice work overall. I think you have some good options for the logo. I agree with gwells' comments about the typeface. The third one reads more like a financial institution. And I like the color scheme for the last two.

I think they are all well done. I agree that the serifs should stay with the trojan head to re-inforce the Roman feel of the symbol. Which one looks best in solid one or 2 color (sans gradients)? I am sure in many print applications they will have to be used that way. good job!
I think I like the serif typeface in the last example best also. Have you tried Trajan for this?
I deleted one option, and modified some. Also added one new option. Thanks again you guys.

Bottom one presented. Period.

agreed, i like the bottom one best overall. with the same earlier caveat that i don't quite like the centered "capital partners" that much. i think i'd prefer to see that in an expanded or wider face and spread the width of centinela.
I like the style on the third one. Kinda different...
I just don't like the sans type style. Maybe try that icon above the type from the bottom sample for comparison.
Can they scale, will they work in print?
Will they display properly scaled up or down on web or a billboard?
Of all the 3rd or 4th down on the first pic is best. they both invert well and the colours are good, I'd be careful with that gradient though.

Bottom one, but do it in black and white. Follow "plugz" suggestion. Make the "eye" in the helmet a little larger so it doesn't fill in when you print the logo at smaller sizes.
