Code Interactive critiques the creativebits logoIvan | Fri, 2006-06-09 21:16
They said we have a great concept, but they think it can be a great logo! It received a 7/10 for the issues addressed in their description, but as they say it has the potential for logo greatness. Read what they had to say in detail.
Overall rating: 7/10
Design: 7, Functionality: 7, Representation: 8, Uniqueness: 6
The icon reflects simple pixels, which nicely associated with its online presence. While the overall design isn't clear, it has beautiful form and reveals a 'c' and 'b.'
The color difference enables a nice juxtaposition of the two words in the logotype.
The font is appealing and has a modern feel, but the curves contradict the basic 90 degree angles in the icon.
We recommend a more angular font.
While the dots in the 'i's are square, we recommend further reflection of the icon in the logotype or vice versa.
The ligatures are nice and reveal thoughtful design.
I fully agree with what they had to say. You can download the actual pdf that was sent to me below.
Btw, I really like the rating system. Shall we start using something similar in our critique section?
