Column break - what key?
KRandallSteelhenge (25 points) | Fri, 2009-03-13 12:00Does anyone know the key on a mac you use for column break? The symbol is like a upside down V with a line on the top. I can't find it and having to go to drop downs every time which is a pain.
Thanks in advance.

Kind of hard to say if we don't know which app you're talking about. Adobe InDesign would be the Enter key.

Same in Quark. I think it's pretty much universal. I think I remember it was the same in Canvas.

Hi ya
Thanks although I work on a laptop and don't have the 'other return key' on the numbers pad. Only have standard return key which is obviously just forms a new line or soft return holding shift.
The keyboard command I am looking for is under Type/Insert break character/column break.
Yes I am working in InDesign
The keyboard command for that is Enter. If you don't have the Enter key, you probably have the fn key. Try fn + Return.
Otherwise, I think your only option is the pulldown menu.

Sorry about the double post. I clicked Post Comment with the wrong mouse button (which is programmed to double-click).
