Combine internet connections
Ivan | Wed, 2008-04-09 21:41Hi guys! I was wondering if it is possible to combine and connect two internet connections into one stream.
What I mean is that let's say I have two ISP subscriptions and I want to combine the download and upload speeds, so I can make use of both. Also, in case one goes down the second one would serve as a backup.
Somebody once mentioned it is possible with a special router. How do you do this in a Mac environment?
Btw, I'm not entirely sure, but I think this is called multihoming.
Thanks!

...but in North America (Canada anyways) you can't have to ISPs in the same household. Heck, you can't even have two modems! Only under special circumstances would you be able to. It's pretty much a no-no for residential. Commercial, on the other hand, you'd have to ask you ISP very nicely if you can have the two modems. But two ISPs? I'd be next in line after you if that could be done :) If you find out more post it up!
edit: You can't have two ISPs LEGALLY.
