My first post here.. Hello all!

Just want to state that it's fantastic to see someone still sketching their way to a logo.. Been a long time that, I still do, to a degree. Once decided you scan it and refine it using Illustrator too?

Are you considering implementation to other formats? Letterheads, invoices etc etc.. When do you decide on a font?

Question: The client mainly occupies himself w. drapery and patterns or is it general int. design all included, e.g. 3D, furniture, kitchen, ceramics etc; then I find the proposals slightly misleading on the subject, but then I liked C. and F. in yer former post.. I thought there was much play, integration of the name 'concepts' and some room for finesse to be pursued.. But what has me confused is that the figurine and text seem detached, I don't know if it's on purpose.. That the company name is not all important?

Anyway, logo design is strange creature, which is fascinating (I was recently told that a new law in France prohibited a person trying to promote themselves using a personalized logo as it is seen as enticement?! But that could be omitted for a considerable fee to the state.. Don't know if it is quite the truth, but it's possible)

Best wishes

MONEY is but a rude interruption of the really meaningful.

Thanks for input. My typically process is that I produce a page (6-8) rough, sketched concepts and then fire them off to the client. They then narrow the field and I go to Illustrator to produce several of them into a rough digital format. Font and color are considered at this point. From there we narrow the field to one and I begin a more final execution that further explores font and colors (all possible combinations of 4-C, PMS, Black and in a reverse setting). Hopefully the logo will endure for some time so I need to design it so that it can be easily applied to any, and all, applications. It should work on anything from billboard to a business card. And, "yes" I agreed logos are a strange creature in that they are pure design that must communicate a desired point instantly...very challenging!

Finally, someone listened! The sketches look great, you can instantly see the difference between someone who quickly throws ideas on a page and someone who starts off right away in Illustrator. If you can pull it off keep that sketchy feeling, depending on who's being marketed here.

A is sweet ( apart from the joining C) , i agree with leaky, if you can keep the raw sketch feel you could have a fantastic result.
B could work well with F, make the swirl look like a holder keeping the curtain open?

Even though it's totally opposite of the kind of stuff I create - A is the winner by far in my book. The mark needs to be separated from the name (as mentioned before).

I like "A" the best, also. I still have a problem, though, with the disconnect between the mark and the company name. The mark overwhelms the company, yet conveys nothing about interior design -- I can see you tried for that with the last one, but the effect is more theatrical, a proscenium curtain being pulled back.

I would love to see you work on the word CONCEPTS without a mark, to see if you can incorporate the client's interest in a scroll motif. And why a scroll, by the way? Does this suggest a specialty in a certain period look? There needs to be a reason for the scroll. It might be that they don't really want a scroll but rather don't want anything too "edgy." Try to expand their horizons.
