Connect Network Charity company logo
Lynx (12 points) | Sun, 2007-05-06 10:34Hi This is a logo I designed for a charity company that helps other charity companies connect with each other to share resources and donated stuff like clothing and food etc. It wanted to focus especially on women and children related issues. they wanted something that children and women can relate to and is not too corporate or intimidating.
Here's what I said about the logo when I presented it:
1. The logo could be used with or without the icon
2. The logo could be interpreted in 2 ways:
a) 2 pregnant women standing back to back with something precious (gold) inside.
b) a person carrying 2 bundles or protecting something precious.
c) a butterfly with golden wings. Butterflies symbolises freedom and the transformation into something beautiful and free. It symbolises dreams can become reality. It symbolises freedom because it can fly away. Butterflies also gather nectar from different flowers and pollinates it in return and it connects a wide range of plants.
3. The last two letters of the logo is joined to illustrate connection. The yellow, signifies the value of the connection. as precious gold.
4. The logo is modren and clean without being clinical and impersonal.
5. It appeals to both children and adults alike.
What is your comments on the logo and where can it improve?

The description says the logo can be interpreted in 2 ways but 3 are listed. :) Anyway I'm with archmedia, I see huge breasts and not much else... maybe a bumblebee if I try.
I think your rationale is great, but the logo doesn't work that well. You need to work more on the lines to make it more elegant. It is too complicated. Lose everything you can while keeping the idea.
just kidding.
:D
Or a turnstile for me.
The logo just doesn't connect to the company in my opinion.

You shouldn't have to explain what you're logo represents. I like the idea of it, it just needs to be more obvious. It looks like a computer networking logo or something.
I'd try a more light font, to kind of go with nurturing.
It's boobs.
There's nothing wrong with that. But it needs to look more like them and less than something to do with computers...
