Construction Chiefs Inc. TAKE 2

Did a couple typeface studies and finally settled with the 50 year old - you-can't-go-wrong font. yeah, Helvetica by Linotype Design Studio. Darn thing cost me 24 Euros too.

Got the go ahead from the client. Can't thank you nuff for the critique.

Noobs...take note, these guys know what they're talking about.

Much better, specially the last one is a vast improvement. The red drill isn't working, but if you would have looked better you would have noticed yourself. It's saying Consruction now.

Just leave it for now and look back at it later, I'm sure you'll see a new direction to go.

logo: a bit thin blue C or larger red C is better (that's the hard balance, you'll need visual balance, not rulers one). more space between than for reduction issues.

typography: bolder and taller is better ( as the last) maybe something less rounded.

bit more paragraph space to avoid reduction problems :)

yes I'm brazilian xD

yeah, i'm still having a braindrizzle, i'll just do another project not related to logos for a mental reboot.

Errrr... http://www.plumbing2k.com/images2006/Ariston%20Logo%20P186.jpg

i forgot about the Ariston logo..you're right, they are similar, but doesn't Ariston have a couple logos for their company? The one we have for our washing machine is the one with the house in a house in a house.

i need a segue, anyone for a good cup of machiato?

Ariston changed its logo around 2003, but everyone remembers the old one...

Hey! it's the Cons Ruction Chiefs!

Start over.

OUCH!

i didn't mean to copy, i guess the "house" theme logs are so cliché, i just saw another similar one while browsing

yeah, imma start over.

It's not the fact that you copied, because unlike the Palmetto guy i think it's just a coincidence. My comment was more directed at the fact that these logos are just weak.

But yes, you're right. You should be researching researching researching. i don't understand why people are so lazy nowadays. Always remember that whatever idea you come up with someone probably already did it.

I 100% agree with you...there's never an excuse not to research, that being said, I'm veering away from the 'house' deal, I'm gonna clean out the cobwebs in my head and will try to make all my logos:

* Simple
* Memorable
* Timeless
* Versatile
* Appropriate

Imma make sure my logos don't get here:

Well the good news is this one is a vast improvement over the red/yellow/blue train wreck. Make a couple more giant leaps like that and you'll be winning an addy with the final design.

And yeah - I'm always up for a cup of machiato (whatever that is). I think you're kind of cute. What do you think of me? Not to be vain or anything, but I must be a looker considering the way people keep stealing my photo...

It should be board policy that in every avatar photo you have to wear a Hawaiian shirt and have bad hair.

Val-Den's picture

The pre-requisite for a Hawaiian shirt IS bad hair, but as long as you can sing like Don Ho and play the uke, it's all good with me.
