Corel/Illustrator File HELP!!!!!!!!!

Hi!

I need some help with Illustrator/Corel Draw. I am working on a pop up holiday card for a client. I have a paper architect in the Netherlands doing the art because I am no paper engineer.

She is using Corel Draw 9. I am using Illustrator CS. I need to be able to send her a card template that she needs to drop the art onto. What file format can I save the Illustrator file in so that she can open it and use it?

Is there another program I could use that the file formats would match?

Thanks!

Jim

Why not save an Illustrator 10 (.eps) or (.ai) file. Corel can export these...I'm not sure why Corel couldn't read them, too...

Haven't used Corel in several years...so your mileage may vary!

As far as I remember, Corel Draw support Adobe Illustrator AI (open and save).

Corel Draw 9 is one of the older formats. They are almost at 13 now.
That version of Corel Draw can import only Illustrator 7 or below. However it can export much more recent versions.

I work in CorelDraw 12 and it only imports Illustrator 8.0 properly, but it can export CS compliant files.

It's wierd, but if you save as Illustrator 7 or below - that should be your best bet. She should be able to IMPORT it - not open - and place into her layout.

I have designs in CDR12 handed off to me by a business partner and need to get them into Illustrator CS2. What is the best method for accurate translation (save as types/options, publish to PDF/options)?
