Corel Draw file help....
ipure (160 pencils) | Mon, 2007-10-22 20:41Hey guys, I'm working on a package design for a Client of mine, He sent me some of the files to be used.. the template is .cdr file and as far as I can tell I can not open it.
does anyone have CorelDraw and is there anyway I could send you the file to open and save as a .eps or something for me.. I would greatly Appreciate it, I'm kinda stuck.
thanks again

Illustrator will open certain .cdr files. Use the 'Open' command and point it at the file. It has worked about 50% of the time for me in the past. You may get lucky.
The other option is to call the client and have him save the .cdr files in an .eps format. Just make sure he converts type to outline.
Yeah i've tried illustrator, and i've tried the client, he got the files from someone who got the files.. I was just looking for a quick fix.
Word and Illustrator have limited Corel Draw file opening capability:

Several apps are mentioned but not much in the way of a real answer.
Can you open the file in photoshop, bring it to illustrator and trace it?

Go to corel.com and download 15-day free trial version. I had the same problem, it works.
