cosmetic surgery website
dsauna (286 pencils) | Wed, 2008-02-20 16:43Ok, me again, with a newer version, thanks a lot for the previews comments it helped a lot.
I still have to wait for the pictures, they may end up giving me some other picutres. Btw, the hover color is going to be maroon, I'm not thinking to change the visited color.
Please let me know what you think
P.S. I change the background color to a solid color upon my bosses request, which I think it looks better, let me know what you think about this too

The layout is alright but graphically it's very boring. You need a logo for the surgeon as well as more interesting font choice for the titles. Your color pallette could be more exciting; right now it's too pastel green with no other/contrasting colors.
What are your link hover and visited colors?

Agree. Lose some of the green; replace with screened back versions of the requested maroon--maybe down at the bottom by the other subtle use of the maroon.
Re-image selection: I'd use a man and a woman. Also, I don't mind the image that you've used for the woman. She goes along with the clean feel of this proposed site.
Overall, I like the medical feel and cleanliness.

Thanks a lot for the comments, the doctor doesn't have a logo, and does not want one right now (well actually he does have a logo, but believe me the simple text is way much better) You're right about it being to dull, and it's a great idea to use the faded maroon, I will try that.
The other option for the headers is use georgia, since I am limited to web fonts, and I don't want to use an image for it, because of SEO, but I think y your totally right natobasso about the header.
Thanks again, I will post another version in a couple of minutes

At least stylize and/or emphasize his name as the most important thing on the page. Right now the site has no hierarchy; nothing is the most important, nothing is 2nd most important, and so on.
Also, why not have a smiling person instead of one with no emotion?

Big fan of simplicity. Personally, I think Georgia works well given the web restraints.
My only comment is in regards to the image of the woman. I know you're waiting for other photography... however the current model makes me uneasy.
She's attractive enough, and seems to be showing an appropriate amount of skin...but she appears to be poorly masking a sense of fear and vulnerability.
Things I believe a surgeon would not want to have front and center on a web page.
It really looks like she is putting on a brave face for a mammogram.
Just my two cents.
Thanks a lot for the comment ShawnAllan, I was starting to see that as well, we are actually changing to picture to a mid forties woman, I will post it in soon. Thanks

The general layout is fine, but the page has no depth to it. All of the colors are completely flat. I would suggest you add some gradients or inner shadows, or something to add some visual appeal to the site. It would certainly fit with the target audience.
I agree. I think you'll find if you put your colors together in a row that they don't have enough going for them. You have two colors, basically, that are not very strong (maroonish and greenish) and a screen of the greenish color.
I recommend a book called 'Color Theory' that will help you create the color scheme you desire. You need something dependable, professional as well as inviting. The colors you have right now are all too 'inviting' and 'soft' to be taken seriously, though you are headed in the right direction.

Not that you should copy their palettes right to the mark, but take a look at what other companies are using in their colour schemes for the targeted 40ish market.
Two of L'Oreal's skin care lines that deal with aging skin utilize red, white and gold in one, and a limey green and black in another. Their packaging and supporting advertisements are clean, classy yet bold.

Though their color scheme is a bit too 'sunsetty' for my taste, it shows a stronger presence that you can get ideas from.
