Creating bevel/emboss effects in Illustrator

Hi everybody...I occasionally use the bevel/emboss effect in Photoshop and have wanted the same convenience when working in Illustrator (CS2). Illustrator's Extrude & Bevel seems a much more powerful and complex tool than what I need for what is such a simple task in PS. Am I missing a simpler method in Illustrator to accomplish the same effect? Any suggestions?...Robin

Which effect exactly are you trying to reproduce? Can you attach a sample here?

I'm not seeing a place to attach a sample on this reply. There's a place to add an attachment when you originally post a comment, but not when replying to a post. Do you know of a way to do this? If not, I'll start a new thread on this subject and attach the sample there.

Thanks. I started a new thread and attached a pdf.
Is there a way to attached to a reply that I just didn't see?

Post an html link to the file in a post. Then we can click on it and see it. No need for a new thread.

I'm not sure how to paste an html link when I don't have a website set up at this time. I just re-submitted the post and attached the sample.

I hope you receive this before this thread is deleted! Thanks!...Robin
