CS3 Snow Leopard
alanclarkdesign (126 pencils) | Wed, 2009-09-02 10:09Hi all
We all know Adobe are not supporting CS3 in Snow Leopard, but when I installed it on my MBP AFTER Snow Leopard, it didn't show up in apps (I wanted to give it a spring clean and a fresh install). Soundbooth, After Effects and a few others showed up, but Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign etc didn't.
Anyone got any ideas? When I put in the install disc again, it says its already installed. Its like I've lost a limb,
Thanks

You mean the folders disappeared? Have you tried searching for them? Maybe they have just been moved?
No they're not coming up in a search either - but it still says when I put the disc in that it's there. I have tried completely uninstalling the whole suite and re-installing from scratch with the same result.
Look for a new folder on your mac called "Incompatible Applications". Snow Leopard has a list of apps it's not going to recognise and it puts those apps in this folder.

Problem solved - I don't think I uninstalled completely so instead of actually just reinstalling the CS, I started from scratch and installed Snow Leopard after formatting the drive. Think there must have been files hiding somewhere that was interfering with the installation. All working fine now.
I read about the Incompatible Applications and actually, nothing has been put in there and I have reinstalled all the software now, mainly VMWare, Microsoft Office, CS3 and iWork 08.
Thanks for the pointer though - it was definitely worth a look.
