customizations for my mac
iderek (35 points) | Mon, 2005-08-22 07:31as far as customizations for tiger go, what would be some of the best programs to get. im familiar with shapeshifter and the like, but is there any other cool little doo-dads out there that could give my mac a little bit more personality?

I honestly recommend not to use shapeshifter and custom themes. They are safe to use and fun. But, soon you will see that the default theme is much more efficient than any of the themes available. Also, as far as I know none of the themes do a full theming. I mean some elements will stay Aqua and it makes a mess. I did play with shapeshifter and it's easy to install and later remove, so there is no problem trying it out, but it's really a waste of time at this point. I wish it it gets developed further and i hope there will be some seriously well designed themes. I'm especially looking for a dark theme that still allows me to see the toolbox icons in applications.

I guess I'll agree with Ivan on some level, but I do in fact use ShapeShifter with this theme TiSuite with no problems at all. It is a very complete skin and icon package. Another really funky one if you want to check it out is located here: http://www.dlanham.com/goodies.htm I'm using his 'Puft' white icon set with teh TiSuite. Each to his own though. I do understand what Ivan is saying.
