Dan Scott Promotion Package

A friend of mine asked me to make a promotion package for him which includes a logo, business card, and letterhead. He's a sound designer. Check out the attached large views and please critique.

How are the letterheads being printed?

The logo is pretty decent but I dont feel the business card and letterhead work as well.

Logo
I really like the headphones, but one thing spoils it for me - the beard. It looks a bit strange and weak compared to the rest. Redraw it so it's a bit shorter and more like its actually under his mouth rather than hanging off his cheek.

How are you planning to print the letterheads?
If these are being printed by Daniel on a standard printer, how are you going to get the white ink for the body text? Might I suggest you lose the gradient reflections, the gradients, the weird flames and have a white background instead of the blue for main text area? Maybe have the text left margin line up with something (either the right side of the logo or the left side of the "DanieL Scott" ( also, lose the capital L !! ).

In a nutshell
I would personally go with the 'less is more' method here:
I like the darker richer blue used for the logo background, I feel if you used that colour instead, it would be more unique than the current lighter blue.
Remove the "decoration" (flames/reflections) as its doing nothing but spoiling a potentially great package.

Again, the moose - very nice, needs a good shave though.

the logo

I like the logo concept. But there's much more work to be done there. Take the concept and experiment! Simplify the logo, there are to much lines and detail. Experiment with it and you'll see that you can accive a stronger logo.

simplify

i agree with the above comments, to simplify

i would also recommend, on the business card, maybe just using the logo (not in a box) on the front of the card, and then left aligning all the text on the back, and only having the info for your friend, so it cleans it up a bit where all the information is...
