Delkin Archival Gold CD

Are the Delkin Archival Gold - Scratch Armor any good and permanent solution to archive data?

I have a bunch of images that need to be preserved, and I've been having all kind of errors with other "leading brands" such as Sony, Verbatim etc. DVDs and CDs.

Is it better to just burn DVDs and CDs to Mac format only?
Will that make the burning more reliable?

Mac only format shouldn't increase reliability of the disc. I've had some issues in the past with other manufacture CDs and DVDs using my Mac. After switching to Apple Media all of my problems immediately disappeared.

Just remember that writable media has an 'organic' aspect that will break down over many years. I've had CD archives from 15 years ago that no longer work. If the material is absolutely VITAL I recommend making a few backups and storing them in different buildings to reduce the risk of losing your work in a fire or natural disaster.

Delkin is saying gold will prevent that. I'm just trying to find out if it's just
marketing BS or what?

Apple makes DVDs/CDS?
