Design Logo (self promotion)

I'm starting to do freelance/contract work and need a logo. I did most of these in B/W and added a little color to get them to pop a bit more. Any color advice would be welcome too. I'm looking for a clean (minimalist), fairly modern logo, but not WEB2.0-y.

Thanks for the feedback!

///EDIT///
I plan on staying in mostly print, identity, retail, and web if i have to. Additionally, I'm planning on freelance photo art direction as well. (most of which was fashion)

i'm glad you said "not web2.0"
though they may SOMETIMES look nice on a screen, they never work when printed, copied, faxed..

with that said. you have alot of great concepts going. i'm not sure i'm really leaning towards any in specific though. here's a few suggestions, don't take it wrong, but i think it might help you...

1) turn off all color. work in black and white, no gray, just black and white. color it up later. i know you said that's what you did, but show them in B&W first, then review the colors.
2) you have alot of stuff that just feels semi-generic. like "i've seen that before" pops in my head when i see some of these. they also feel a little stagnant and rigid. nothing really feels dynamic.
3) try drawing them out. yeah, most people can't draw to save their life, but it's ok, it doesn't have to be pretty, but it'll almost always generate ideas that you never would have seen in a bunch of pixels.
4) giving us a bit more of an overlook on your freelance company might help. are you going to be doing logo's? websites? video animation? etc.etc... it might help us a bit.

keep us posted. best of luck...

I love B1, its really modern and it will look awesome on business cards and applications. Good job!

3a,4a and 3b feel like something i've seen on TV.
B1 is indeed a good start, i think i'd trim off a little less of it, maybe even try it with different fonts.
then i'd take the subtitle of 2B instead of the one it has now.

you're on to some good ideas. keep us posted. (when you do, create a new thread instead of swapping out the image so that you can reference to past ideas)

I'd say in no order;

B4, B6, A3

But now B1 is catching my eye too...
hope that helps

Honestly, there really isn't a single one that looks professional. All these logos tell me is that your name starts with a "B." I would start over and really concentrate on what your specialty is, and what really makes you unique as a designer, because a single letter says nothing.

3b stands out the most for me as unique. The rest have all been done before and aren't very special. I can tell this is very early stage, just keep working. You'll get there.

keep working at it. Making a logo for yourself, I found, is one of the hardest things to do. It took my 3 years to come up with something I liked.

b1 one is ht only one worth looking at design wise but it's been done to death. If i was you i'lld give your self something to work with by using a company name and that name needs to be an object and it dose not matter what object as long as it gives you some graphic material to work with. for example bluebell design (i know thats a crap name but think about it a little longer then the 5 sec i just did) it gives you a colour you can play with + imagery, your name gives you nothing but meaningless shapes.
