I got the feeling that this was meant to be funny and written by a well mentored designer (gets the feeling the writer is biased?)
Im completely self taught (never even studied design at school) and felt insulted to be honest. I'm proud of where i've got and who I am as a designer, and its been f****** tough for me to get past the jealous people who feel the need to put me down because they think that just turning up to design lessons makes them better than somebody else..
I know for them its jealousy, but for me Its been tough going for me to tell them where to stick there opinion, up their.......
Things like this stereotype people imo, and really shouldn't be put on the web for people to see and take seriously.

Don't think they were taking a crack at us man, but I feel ya. I've felt I've had to work pretty hard to make it where I am without going to design school, but looking back I know of just as many designers that went to school that didn't that aren't quite taking off yet so I've never really worried about it.
Someday I'd LOVE to go to school, and not so I can say I went, but for the pure enjoyment of it.

Oh, and by mentor, I don't think it means school, since on the chart they both went to school...I think it might mean having a Sr. Designer helping us youngins along.
I'm leaving MS because of that, I don't have a Sr around to help critique or guide, so I'm off to a firm.

I suppose your very fortunate experience at ms has shown you how things shouldnt be done?
And I no longer have a mentor, I have good friends who I guess could be mentors (like the guy I worked closely with at my now previous employment - I'm now full time freelance)

MS does a lot of things very well, like take care of its employees. Working here is awesome, but I want more visibility, I want to be in a place where design is #1, not #23489 after a billion other priorities like profit, market share, and stuff like that.
Its probably extremely hard to find a place where design is close to the top priority of the leaders of a company, so off to a design firm I go:)

I'm not even on the charts! I'm in high school, so what can I say? Not applicable? Zero Self-Esteem? Haha...
I love it, if they'd showed me this at college I would have thought it was hilarious. Obviously meant to be massively tongue-in-cheek: I mean 'cries at crit', and 'has to learn Quark XPress', it's funny and true...
